Connected
As of yesterday I am connected to the interwebs in my new home. I found a solution which gives me a superfast internet speed of 20 Mbit although my street is not connected to broadband cable. Kabel Deutschland which is actually a cable TV company provides internet connection through TV cable. I didn’t know that this was possible. (I actually found out today that internet via Satellite is widely used in sparsely populated areas. Wow - I thought that this is only an option for people sailing away in the far away oceans.) Anyway, as I’m living in a building in which cable TV was never installed, Kabel Deutschland came and teared down a part of my living room wall, drilled a hole through the chimney and laid meters and meters of cable to and through the basement, set up a cable box there and plastered over the whole wall again. It took them about 4 hours and I didn’t have to pay for the installation. That’s a pretty decent service. Did I mention that I’m fascinated by this technology?
